| Illinois is ranked #22 in the AP Top 25 poll this week, and is one of two newcomers. Louisville drops like a rock this week, falling nine spots to #23.
Syracuse hangs on to number one for the fifth week in a row. Illinois breaks into the Top 25 with an upset win at home over then-5th ranked Ohio State, 79-74. Saint Mary's comes in at #24 with wins against Portland, 69-61, then-21st ranked Gonzaga, 83-62, and San Francisco, 87-72. Gonzaga falls out of the Top 25 this week with an upset loss at Saint Mary's and a win at Loyola Marymount, 62-58. Seton Hall drops out after a win against DePaul, 94-73 and a loss to South Florida, 56-55.
Louisville is a big mover this week, tumbling nine places to #23, following an upset loss at Providence, 90-59 and a win at home over DePaul, 76-59. Michigan tanked seven spots to #20 after a win against Northwestern, 66-64 and a loss to Iowa, 75-59. Kansas State slipped 7 spots to #25 after losses to Oklahoma, 82-73 and then-4th ranked Baylor, 75-73.
